HOS FASHION CATWALK at 'SCOUT ABOUT' SOUTH MELBOURNE STREET FAIR

House of Snowball brought to Coventry St, a whimsical feast of fashion, with a catwalk parade out the front of our boutique, for the inaugural 'Scout About' South Melbourne Street Fair on Sunday 19th February 2012.

The catwalk came to life with eclectic tunes from the "Bucket of Sound" music collective, featuring Guy Dowsett (below left), Jake Cartright (below right) and House of Snowball partner and singer Paul Rowe (below middle) gracing us with their original set, composed specifically for the catwalk show.
(To visit their website click here www.bucketofsound.com)

The band began proceedings with their signature tune, "mama pass me a ladder..." reverberating through the afternoon air, setting the mood of a nostalgic italian seaside village as hand-dyed vintage guipure lace dresses in mint, cornflower blue and fruity sorbet blends of coloured lace and silk danced their way onto the catwalk.

The mood then progressed as the oriental tinkering of the live band took the crowd to another land, this time to the eclectic chinoiserie collection, featuring worldly blends of chinese, tibetian and french brocades, which the House of Snowball has come to be known for, worn by our beautiful models with poise and panache
.

Calypso and atmospheric sounds
set the tone for a finale of silk organza looks with the Venus collars and the Drippy Snowball Lace cotton organdy shirt, as featured in the Mario Testino shoot of Vogue UK March 2012. A fresh, modern bride graced the catwalk wearing a beautifully crafted white silk organza dress with architecturally flounced tiered peplum and train with fine white organza bindings, all sewn by hand.
