THE SNOWBALL MINI BRIDE

Lisa and Ken.

The beautiful Lisa STUNNED her hubby and wedding guests when she walked up the aisle in House of Snowball’s first MINI WEDDING DRESS! A great deal of subterfuge was involved to keep Lisa’s ‘mini’ a secret and the looks on the faces of the wedding guests were priceless as she sashayed down the aisle with her gorgeous pins on parade.

Lisa looked incredible in her half traditional white silk satin and organza mini dress, with beautiful vintage 1960’s guipure cotton lace bodice, detachable white silk satin charmeuse drape and vintage diamante buckle.
The dress was custom designed, taking inspiration both from House of Snowball’s “Chinoiserie Tutu” and Lisa’s mum Judy’s original wedding dress from the 70’s, with guipure cotton lace detail.

The full tutu style silhouette was made up of layers and layers of white silk organza circles, which were dip-dyed on the hems graduating to darker shades of ultraviolet purple as they went further in under the skirt. Setting if all off, Lisa wore a pair of matching ultraviolet purple high-heels. The finishing touch was a House of Snowball designed and delicately hand-appliquéd vintage cotton guipure lace edged silk organza veil.

What an event! The guests had an absolute ball when they entered Westside Events, a converted warehouse in West Melbourne, which was decked out like a summertime garden party, complete with Astroturf, ice-cream van and hedged fruit trees.
The Bridal party was escorted to the event in none other than a blue Volkswagen Kombi van!

Sharing the spotlight with Lisa on her special day, was her mother Judy, dressed in a gorgeous one-off Ready to Wear House of Snowball design, made from blended blue and soft gold Chinese brocade and charcoal silk organza with an art deco black jet and diamante belt clasp. Put simply, Judy looked the picture of elegance and sophistication.
The Groom, Groomsmen and Father of the Bride looked dashing, sporting an eclectic mix of brightly coloured ties and each with a unique handmade pin from House of Snowball.

The men’s pins were made from a vintage hatpin, collaged with silk scraps, vintage laces, clustered with buttons, feathers and found objects.

To complement the Groomsmen, the Bridesmaids wore wrist corsage keepsakes, a posy of fruity coloured fabric snippets and haberdashery trinkets.
Thanks to Lisa for her absolute enthusiasm in embracing the creative process with us and we take our hats off to her for creating an exciting and individual event that will be cherished for years to come.

The House that Snowball built...

That time that you've all been waiting for has finally arrived...

The launch of House of Snowball blog...
...although we've decided that the word blog is neither sexy nor sophisticated enough so we've renamed it:
The House of Snowball Blogé

So... this is the secret place where you can find out, well, everything... from new collection pieces, how to wear them, whose wearing them, how they are wearing them, how you could be wearing them... and so on... if you have a passion for fashion, I'm sure that you couldn't possibly go past these juicy pieces of information and images... and then there's that curious creative world... the indefinable, unexplainable, intriguing mind of the fashion designers... you might just get a piece of it if you stick around.
